The Runner, Turned Up

Dino Run is our hard mode. It uses the same rules as the classic dinosaur game — jump cacti, duck pterodactyls, survive — but everything is tuned against you: the run starts about 25% faster, the speed ramp is steeper, and the top speed is higher than the T-Rex Runner ever reaches. A score that took five relaxed minutes in classic arrives here in two frantic ones.

Surviving High Speed

  1. Fix your eyes ahead of the dino, not on it. Obstacles must be read at the right edge of the screen.
  2. Jump late and flat. Long floaty jumps are death sentences when the next cactus is already incoming — a core lesson from our high-score masterclass.
  3. Prefer ducking to jumping on mid-height pterodactyls; ducking never costs airtime.
  4. Play in short bursts. Reaction speed fades fast; records fall to fresh eyes, as every world-record attempt shows.
Fair warning: there are no cheat codes on this page — if you want to experiment with console tricks, that belongs to the original browser version, and we document those separately in our cheat codes article.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dino Run?

Dino Run is the hard-mode version of our classic dinosaur runner: higher starting speed, faster acceleration and a raised top speed. The controls are identical — jump and duck — but the margins are far tighter.

How much harder is Dino Run than the classic game?

Expect your classic score to drop by half or more on your first attempts. The game reaches 'late-game' speed in roughly a third of the time.

Are the controls the same as the T-Rex game?

Yes — SPACE or ↑ to jump, ↓ to duck, tap on mobile. Only the tuning changes, so classic skills transfer directly.

Does Dino Run save my high score?

Yes, your best Dino Run score is stored separately from your classic T-Rex Runner score, so each mode tracks its own record.

Which game should I play first?

If you're new, learn on the classic T-Rex Runner or Jumping Dinosaur first. Come to Dino Run when 1,000+ classic scores feel routine.
